You come over a tiny rise and the lodge emerges almost instantly below you after a long leisurely game drive through herds of wild animals and down miles of Africa’s apparently endless highways.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge is nestled among the kopjes, ancient baobabs, and grasslands of the Tarangire National Park, which is home to Africa’s largest concentration of elephants. Many can be seen about the lodge, allowing visitors to get up up and personal with them.

Oliver’s Camp in Tarangire was inspired by the trailblazing camps that pioneered the early days of safari. It gives you direct access to the dense concentration of wildlife you will find year-round in this remote region, as well as the chance to enjoy walking safaris and fly camping. Oliver’s is intimate and personal, staffed by a world-class team that has worked together for many years to perfect a safari experience that guests consistently rank among their best.

The Nyikani Camp is a conceptual portrayal of the Tarangire landscapes’ termite mounds. With cascading layers of concealed elements and patterns, these homes are incredibly robust and efficient. Their color tones and mud textures influenced our design approach and are reflected in the camp’s furnishings and decor.

The most recent of our semi-permanent structures is Nyikani. The camp is conveniently positioned near the Tarangire Gate (45 minutes drive) and Kuru Airport (5 minutes drive) – and, of course, animals.

Many people consider a safari to be a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we’ve designed Kichuguu to accommodate such a journey. We have a variety of options that give richness and character to any event, whether it’s a honeymoon, an anniversary celebration, or a self-invented special occasion.

To offer a convenient and uniform experience for families and friends, careful arrangements of public and private places, as well as other logistical preparations, are required. Our support staff is well-versed in planning for gatherings of all sizes, and our camp-style buildings are great for customizing.

Nimali Tarangire is a private luxury resort on the eastern border of Tarangire National Park, known for its magnificent baobab trees and significant concentration of elephants. The private concession was established to safeguard the environment and manage animal areas.

The resort is nestled amongst the acacia and baobab trees, alongside the riverbed. Natural materials are combined with contemporary décor to provide a memorable bush experience for guests.

Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp is the ideal choice for a real safari experience beneath traditional canvas with expansive vistas and enriching culture. Mbali Mbali Tarangire River Camp is situated within a 25,000-hectare concession area, 3.5 kilometers from the Tarangire National Park’s main gate and overlooks a branch of the Tarangire River.

Outside of the Serengeti, Tarangire has the highest concentration of animals, nestled between the Maasai Steppe and the Great Rift Valley. The main draw is the park’s river, which is home to a diverse array of animals.

During the dry season, elephants dig deep into the riverbed, while antelope concentrate around decreasing water holes, followed by predatory creatures such as lions and leopards. Tarangire is also a bird and baobab paradise in Tanzania.

The Lemala Mpingo Ridge lies on an escarpment with panoramic views of the perennial Tarangire River and valley below, and will offer the same high levels of luxury and service as the other Lemala estates.

THIS ORGANIC, LIGHT-FOOTED CAMP HIDDEN AWAY IN THE PARK IS PROBABLY CLOSER TO THE CORE OF OUR HEARTS THAN ANY OTHER. Tarangire country is huge and bold; our camp is the polar opposite…a small treasure. It is so much at one with the wild that animals rarely look up as they go about their business around us, and it is hidden within a grove of quiet riverfront bush. Elephants frequently pass through camp, and from the wonderful luxury of our sun-slatted living space, we can be entirely immersed in their private life.

At Elewana Tarangire Treetops – High in the trees, I’m living a dream.

Many a childhood was spent immersed in the world of “make-believe.” Many of us will have climbed and played high up in the bows and branches in this imagined world, and for the lucky few, created a ‘palace’ in the sky.

The nostalgic glint in the eyes of the ‘grown-ups’ who see Tarangire Treetops for the first time is all too obvious. Tarangire Treetops is a peaceful retreat on the outskirts of Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park.
