Arrival in Zanzibar and Transfer to Stone Town

Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Tanzania Classic Tours and transferred to your hotel in the historic area of Stone Town. After check-in, spend the rest of the day exploring the fascinating streets of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich history and cultural diversity. Walk through the narrow alleyways lined with old coral stone buildings, beautifully carved wooden doors, and bustling markets. You may also visit historical landmarks such as the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the former slave market, which tell the story of Zanzibar’s important role in the Indian Ocean trade routes. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing walk along the seafront while watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

After breakfast, depart for an exciting excursion to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, the only national park on Zanzibar Island. This lush tropical forest is famous for its population of the rare and endemic Zanzibar Red Colobus monkeys. During the guided walk through the forest trails, you will have the chance to observe these unique monkeys up close as they move through the treetops. The forest is also home to a variety of bird species, butterflies, and indigenous plants that make the ecosystem unique. The tour continues with a visit to the mangrove boardwalk, where you will learn about the important role mangrove forests play in protecting the coastline and supporting marine life. After the excursion, return to Stone Town for relaxation and leisure for the rest of the day.
