Manyara National Park Safaris
Manyara National Park is a compact but ecologically diverse park in northern Tanzania, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Covering about 330 square kilometers, it is famous for its alkaline Lake Manyara, lush groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and grassy plains. The park offers a variety of wildlife experiences within a relatively small area, making it ideal for short safari excursions. Manyara is particularly renowned for its tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos along the lake, and a high diversity of bird species, earning it the nickname “Birders’ Paradise.” The park is part of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, often paired with Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti for multi-day tours. Visitors can explore the park with guided safaris arranged by Tanzania Classic Tours, which include game drives, bird watching, and cultural visits to nearby Maasai villages.
