All about this Tour

Lemosho route 7 days Kilimanjaro climbing will start on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. The first 2 days of the climb crosses the thick rain-forest belt which will change into heath and moorland with many ferns tree and erica tree along the way. The narrow trail sometimes has very steep passages and passes through diverse landscapes. On the third day, the route will join the Machame route. The lemosho route is more challenging Compared to the Marangu and the Rongai route.

Arrive in Tanzania-Drive to Arusha

Upon arrival, you will be met timeously at Kilimanjaro Airport by our transfer specialist who will welcome you and then transfer you to your arranged hotel in Moshi or hotel in Arusha. That evening your mountain guide will meet you for a briefing on the hike and check your trekking gears and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment that you required for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Climbing from Londrossi Gate 2,250 meter to Mti mkubwa Camp 2,780 meter

In the morning after your breakfast you will be driven to Londorossi Gate, about 3 hour’s drive from your hotel. Upon completion of all the entry formalities and a final 15 km drive on a bumpy road, you will reach your starting point at the edge of the Montana forest. You will get your lunch before you set out on the trail via the rainforest. Today’s walk is quite short, about 3 hours, as opposed to the days ahead, this will give you time to enjoy the lush scenery which will drastically change over the course of your climb. You might even see white and black colobus monkeys sitting in the branches above you

Mti mkubwa Camp

Day 3

Climbing from Mti Mkubwa Camp 2,250 meter to Shira 1 Camp 3,500 meter

As you start walking along the narrow route via the rainforest, you will find the vegetation becoming increasingly sparce until you finally arrive moorland filled with Lobelia and Erica plants. Ascending via rolling hills, you will approach Shira 1 Camp in about 4 hours. Looking over the Shira Plateau from your camp you will be able to see snow-capped summit of Kibo. A hearty evening meal and a last glimpse at the starry sky will bring the day to a close

Day 4

Climbing from Shira 1 Camp 2,500 Meter to Shira 2 Camp 3,900 Meter

After having your delicious breakfast, you will pass through Shira Ridge with its rocky ground, short grasses, and shrubs. As you hike the path is much flatter than the day before, your hike will become more easily and leisurely, you will admire breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley and Mount Meru. Beautiful and distinctive Giant Lobelias still dot the moor landscape. Hikking on the ground where lava used to flow you will get to Shira 2 Camp, where you will get your hot dinner and overnight stay

Day 5

Climbing from Shira 2,900 meter to Lava Tower 4,640 meter to Barranco Camp 3,940 meter

After your breakfast, your ascent will begin to Lava Tower through a boulder-strewn terrain. From far you will see Kibo peak encouraging you to continue uphill. Approaching to Lava Tower at an altitude of 4,640 miter above sea level, you will have a lunch while relaxing and let your body to get used to the higher altitude, after about an hour you will continue downwards to Barranco Camp. This technique of trekking high but sleeping low allows your body to acclimatize to the differing altitudes and gives you a good idea of how your body reacts to changes in Altitude. Through the way the scenery changes once more and soon you are surrounded by Senecio kilimanjari and smaller Lobelia deckenii plants

Day 6

Climbing from Baranco Camp 3,940 meter to Barafu Camp 4,640 meter

The barranco wall is an amazing climb, after breakfast you will begin to climb the famous Barranco wall, which is probably the steepest part of the entire route. Although climb barranco wall some parts require technical climbing, some part will require you to use your hands for a better grip and to pull yourself up. Your guide will be always close to help you during climbing barranco wall. After you have pulled yourself around the Kissing Rock you will start walking along the mountain ridge and via the Karanga Valley. You will cross the last water point as you finally arrive at Karanga Camp after 4 hours

Day 7

Climbing from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak 5895 meter to Mweka Camp 3,080meter

At midnight you will wake up and finish put on your summit gears. You will be given some hot tea/coffee and biscuits in order to get you ready for the summit. From starting you will ascend in a north-westerly direction via heavy scree toward Stella Point, reaching there in about 5 hours. At Stella Point, you will relax if necessary, before spending another 1 hour climb along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak – the highlight of your trip. An amazing view awaits you as you stand on the Roof of Africa. After taking as many pictures as you want, you will leave behind the glistening glaciers and snowy peak and make your way back down to Barafu Camp.After arriving back at barafu camp you will have time to catch your breath before heading further down to Mweka camp (3,080miter), an approximate 4-hour walk

Day 8

Discending from Mweka Camp 3,080 meter to Mweka Gate 1,630 Arusha

After finishing your breakfast and a traditional ceremony by your mountain teams, your final descent to mweka gate will begin. A leisurely 3 hours walk will take you back more through the rainforest, where the endemic flower Impatiens Kilimanjari grows. You will arrive Mweka Gate where your transferring driver will be waiting for you. The driver will take you back to the arranged Hotel in Moshi or Arush
