Marangu route 6 Days hiking is considered the easiest route to climb up Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit – Kibo. The Marangu Route is the only route with homely beds at every camp. The Marangu route is well-developed since the route provides accommodation in huts and the hikers are constant.

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon arrival, you will be met timeously at Kilimanjaro Airport by our transfer specialist who will welcome you and then transfer you to your arranged hotel in Moshi or hotel in Arusha. That evening your mountain guide will meet you for a briefing on the hike and check your trekking gears and

Day 2

Mandara Hut

After having your delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will be heading to Marangu gate on Mount Kilimanjaro National Park 1,840 meters, you will be having a lunch box at Marangu gate. After the registration and weighing of the luggage for the porters have been done, your hike will be starting and you will soon be trekking through the Montana forest or rainforest. On your way to the camp, you might see black and white colobus monkeys scrambling through the lush vegetation. you will reach your first day’s camp located in the Montana forest, the Mandara Hut. After enjoying your delicious dinner, your guide will meet you for a briefing about the next day’s hike.

Day 3

Horombo Hut

The day commences with an early breakfast and shortly after you have left Mandara Hut, you will arrive at the tree line where vegetation will start to change to shrubs. Just about 6 hours later, the Horombo Hut will come into sight at an altitude of about 3,720 meters above sea level. From the hut, you will have breathtaking views overlooking the Mawenzi peak, Kibo peak, and the Masai grassland.

Day 4

Acclimatization at Horombo Hut

An extra day at Horombo Hut to acclimatize to the higher altitude but for 5 days climb on this day you will trek at Kibo Hut. Spend a day walk to zebra rock the rock striped by weather. Explore the birdlife that is abundant at Horombo and gate good panoramic views of the mountain and Mawenzi Peak. Use the day to hydrate, rest, and prepare

Day 5

Kibo Hut

will begin your trekking to Kibo Hut, today’s hiking is long and the trail goes through the “last water point” which is followed by the so-called “saddle”. This near plant less plateau links the summit of Kibo with Mawenzi. Today’s destination is Kibo Hut and it may be reached in about 5 to 6 hours. Tonight, you have early dinner so that you can have an early enough rest since you will get up at midnight.

Day 6

Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Today is the “long day” – the summit final. You will embark in the middle of the night when the lava ash is still frozen and passing through on it is easier. You will begin with the long and strenuous trek to the summit in the dark. Passing the Hans Meyer cave at 5,200 meters, the hike slowly but surely goes upwards. At sunrise, you will reach Gilman’s Point 5,715 meter on the crater rim. Soon you will be starting feeling warm and after another 1 to 2 hours, you will arrive at Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters. Now you are at “The Top of Africa”. The descent takes the same trails and the lava ash will now have melted encouraging a fast descent. On your way back to Kibo Hut, a hot lunch awaits you and you can take a rest while to regain your strength. After a 1-hour break, you will be going back down to the Horombo Hut 3,700 meter where you will be reaching in the evening.

Day 7

Marangu Gate

You will hike back to Marangu gate and the park headquarters. At marangu gate you will sign you name and details in register, the successful climbers receive summit certificate, those climbers who Gilman’s point point is issued with green certificate and those who reached uhuru peak receive gold certificate. Then meet your drive guide and get hot lunch before drive back to your hotel

Departure

On your last day in Tanzania, your driver will pick you up from your hotel, then you will be transported on time to the airport where we will wish you a safe journey and good luck.
