Arrival in Dar es Salaam and Relaxation

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The transfer takes you through parts of the city, giving you your first impression of Tanzania’s coastal lifestyle. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure. You may relax by the swimming pool, enjoy the hotel gardens, or simply rest in your room after your journey. If time allows, enjoy a calm evening with dinner at the hotel, preparing for the safari ahead.

Drive to Selous National Park and Evening Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, depart for Nyerere National Park by road. The drive is scenic and offers a glimpse into rural Tanzania, passing villages, farms, and changing landscapes as you head south. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will be welcomed with refreshments and enjoy lunch while overlooking the surrounding wilderness. After some relaxation, head out in the late afternoon for a boat safari along the Rufiji River. As you cruise along the river, you will get close views of hippos, crocodiles, and an abundance of birdlife, all while enjoying the golden colors of the sunset reflecting on the water.

Full Day in Nyerere National Park

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. This vast park offers a true wilderness feel, with fewer vehicles and uninterrupted wildlife viewing. With your Tanzania Classic Tours professional safari guide, explore different habitats including open plains, woodlands, and riverine areas. You may encounter elephants moving in herds, lions resting or hunting, giraffes browsing, and large groups of buffaloes. A picnic lunch will be served in a scenic spot within the park, allowing you to stay out for extended exploration. Continue your game drive in the afternoon before returning to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Walking Tour and Afternoon Game Drive
