Arrive at Udzungwa and Relaxation

Upon arrival at Udzungwa Mountains National Park, you will be welcomed and transferred to your lodge near the park. The area is surrounded by dense forest, rolling hills, and fresh mountain air. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a gentle walk around the lodge surroundings where you can spot monkeys, colorful butterflies, and various bird species. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and taking in the peaceful atmosphere of this beautiful mountain destination.

Full Day in Udzungwa

After breakfast, begin your guided hike through the lush rainforest of Udzungwa Mountains National Park towards the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls. Along the trail, keep an eye out for the endemic Sanje mangabey and the Iringa red colobus monkeys, both found only in this region. The forest is also rich with birds, butterflies, and unique tropical vegetation. Upon reaching the waterfalls, enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding plains and time to relax near the natural pools before walking back. This day combines scenic hiking, wildlife encounters, and one of the most rewarding landscapes in southern Tanzania.

Walking Safari and Departure

This morning, enjoy a guided walking safari through the forest trails. Walking offers a closer look at the smaller details of the ecosystem—bird calls, butterflies, unique trees, and occasional sightings of monkeys moving through the canopy. Your guide will introduce the flora and fauna of the forest while sharing insights about the ecology of the area. After the walk, return for lunch and prepare for your departure from Udzungwa.
