This 9 days Mount Kilimanjaro and safari in Tanzania with Tanzania Classic Tours. This nine days tour gives you the chance to trek Kilimanjaro via the Machame route for 6 days and a short 3-day safari in Tanzania. The safari will have you visit two of the most popular national parks in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. You will explore the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara National parks as part of your 6-day safari from your 9-day trip.

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon arrival, you will be met timeously at Kilimanjaro Airport by our transfer specialist who will welcome you and then transfer you to your arranged hotel in Arusha. That evening your mountain guide will meet you for a briefing on the hike and check your trekking gears and ensure that you have all the necessary equipment that you required for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Machame Camp

entrance Gate of Mount Kilimanjaro about an hour’s drive. At the gate, your guide will be doing the registration and weighing for the porter’s luggage. while waiting you will be given a lunch and providing adequate water before starting the hike. Once this is all done, you will start your hiking adventure within the wonderful Montana forest with beautiful trees, ancient fern trees, lichen, beautiful flowers, endemic flowers. The Machame camp is located above the trees at 2850 meters above sea level.

Day 3

Shira Camp

After early morning breakfast, you will start your second-day trekking, the path steepens and the landscape changes into moor- and heathland and the open landscape allows you to see the exciting mountain range. The second day’s destination is shorter than the previous day and you will arrive at the Shira Camp by mid-afternoon the camp has an incredible view of the mountain and incredible sunset, the sun lights the rock face.

Barranco Camp

After having a delicious breakfast, you will start the hike to Lava tower 4,640 meters above sea level where you will stop for lunch and after lunch, you will descend to Barranco Camp 3,940 meters. This will let your body to acclimatize very well since you have relative altitude. The vegetation will start to change and become an alpine desert with

Barafu Camp

The trek will begin with the climb of the “Barranco Wall”. Safety is paramount and your guide will be walking close to assist you wherever you require help. Following the ridge, as it traverses up and down, you can appreciate magnificent views of the south glacier of Kibo. In the Karanga Valley, you will have a hot lunch, followed by 3 hours climb to Barafu Camp 4,640 meters. Once at the camp, you can, have an early dinner, and call it an early night.

Day 6

Uhuru Peak to Mweka Gate

After having hot tea and light snacks, the trek will start at midnight. By using a headlump, you will climb the screes of Kibo. After 5 to 6 hours of climbing in the dark, you will get to Stella Point, the crater rim of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will have Another 1-hour trekking along the crater ridge will take you to Uhuru Peak (the summit) at 5,895 meters. Here you will see Kilimanjaro in all its glory, enjoying the 360° view over the landscape below as the sun rises. You are now standing on the “Top of Africa”. After taking pictures and all your explorations, the simple descent starts almost along the same route and shortly before midday you will arrive back at Barafu Camp, after having a hot meal and a well-deserved break of approximately 1 hour, you will be on the way going down to Mweka Camp 3,080 meter.

Day 7

Mweka Gate

After breakfast then continue to go down to Mweka gate where you sign your name and details in a register. This is also where successful climbers receive their summit certificates. Those climbers who reached Stella Point are issued with green certificates and those who reached Uhuru Peak receive gold certificates. Meet by a driver guide and drive to last point Kijiji for hot lunch, and drive back to your hotel. I

Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, you will meet timeously by your expert safari guide at your hotel. Thereafter you will start your journey to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. The Park is rich with ancient giant baobab trees, also known as the ‘’Tree of life’’, which covers most of the landscape of the park, The Tarangire National Park has the largest concentration of elephant which you can see bathing in the Tarangire river, as well as giraffes, monkey, impala, and many birds it is also one of the most beautiful places to see lion & leopard.

Ngorongoro Crater

You will start your morning with scrumptious breakfast and get ready for another day of the wilderness. Today you will be driven down into the Ngorongoro Crater for a magnificent game drive and wildlife watching. The Ngorongoro crater has a vast number of animals including lion, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, Africa elephant, Giraffe, cheetah, and it is a good opportunity to see the rare Black Rhino.afrenoon drive to head Arusha for rest and relax.

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive, upon arrival begin exploring the park’s diverse habitats including the lush groundwater forest, open grasslands, and the alkaline Lake Manyara. The park is well known for its large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and hippos. It is also famous for its tree-climbing lions and rich birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans along the lake shore. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive in the late afternoon drive in Arusha town for evening flight.
