All about this Tour

The wide grassy area at the heart of Katavi National Park is a must-see. The Park’s little rivers and extensive marshes support a significant number of hippos and crocodiles. Katavi National Park is home to around 400 different bird species. When the floodplains dry up and elephants, hippos, lions, Zebras, giraffes, elands, topis, and other animals converge around the park’s remaining water, the park comes to life. The park’s hippos are notable; near the end of the dry season, thousands of hippos congregate in a single muddy pool. Katavi also plays host to Africa’s greatest remaining buffalo herds, with over a thousand of these steroid-fueled bovines seen at any given moment.
