Arrival and Relaxation

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Tanzania Classic Tours and transferred to Arusha. The rest of the day is reserved for relaxation after your international journey, giving you time to settle in and prepare for the upcoming trekking and safari adventure. Arusha, located at the foot of Mount Meru, is a peaceful gateway city surrounded by lush landscapes and views of Tanzania’s famous mountains.

Day 2

Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

After breakfast, your trekking adventure begins with a transfer to Momella Gate, the starting point of the Mount Meru climb. After registration and meeting your mountain crew, the trek begins through scenic forest trails where wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, monkeys, and various bird species are often spotted. Accompanied by an armed ranger for safety, you will gradually ascend through the lush forest toward the first mountain hut while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain.

Day 3

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

After breakfast, the climb continues higher through changing vegetation zones as the dense forest slowly transitions into open moorland and heather landscapes. The trail becomes steeper as you gain elevation, offering spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and volcanic landscapes. On clear days, trekkers may catch breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the horizon. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, you will have time to rest and prepare for the early morning summit attempt.

Summit Mount Meru and Return to Arusha

Very early in the morning, you will begin the final ascent toward Socialist Peak, the summit of Mount Meru. The climb is both challenging and rewarding, with dramatic ridge views and a stunning sunrise illuminating the surrounding landscapes. From the summit, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and an incredible sight of Mount Kilimanjaro towering above the clouds. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend back through the trail to Momella Gate and return to Arusha for well-deserved rest after completing the climb.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your Tanzania Classic Tours professional driver guide will pick you up and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. The park is famous for its impressive elephant herds and majestic baobab trees scattered across the savannah. During the game drive, you will explore different areas of the park while searching for wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, and predators including lions.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, the safari continues to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations. Descending into the crater floor, you will enjoy a memorable game drive within this natural volcanic caldera that supports one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, you will ascend the crater walls and continue to your lodge.

Lake Manyara and Back to Arusha

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive in this scenic park known for its diverse habitats including lush forests, open plains, and the shallow soda lake that attracts flamingos and other birdlife. Wildlife such as elephants, hippos, giraffes, and playful monkeys are commonly seen within the park. After the game drive you will return to Arusha for your final evening in Tanzania.
