Arusha to Mommella Gate
Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Arusha to Momella Gate, where you complete registration and meet your mountain team. The trail starts with gentle walking through lush forests filled with wildlife—expect sightings of black-and-white colobus monkeys, buffalo in the distance, and vibrant birdlife. The steady climb offers beautiful views over the lower slopes before arriving at Miriakamba Hut, nestled among tall trees. Enjoy a warm dinner and relax in the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

Day 2

Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut
Continue climbing through thicker forest before the trail opens into heather and moorland. Enjoy sweeping views of the Meru Crater and the dramatic Ash Cone. Arrive at Saddle Hut, located just below the summit ridge. In the afternoon, take a short acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m). Return for dinner and overnight.

Saddle Hut – Meru Summit – Miriakamba Hut
Begin your summit attempt after midnight. Ascend along the narrow ridge under a sky full of stars and reach Mount Meru Summit (4,566m) by sunrise, with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro glowing in the distance. After celebrating, descend to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy a gentle descent back through the forest toward Momella Gate. Your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Arusha for a relaxing afternoon and overnight at your hotel.

Day 5

Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees and large elephant populations. Spend the day exploring river valleys, woodlands, and open plains where giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and many bird species thrive. Later, continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Ngorongoro Crate & back to Arusha
Start early for a drive to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the caldera for a full game drive, surrounded by some of the highest wildlife densities in Africa. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, buffalos, spotted hyenas, hippos, and possibly black rhinos. In the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and drive back to Arusha, marking the end of your 6-day adventure.
