Lake Manyara National Park

The tree-climbing lions, the soda lake, the flamingos, and the stunning scenery of Lake Manyara National Park are all well-known. The park is on the road to the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. The alkaline soda lake of Lake Manyara is home to an astounding variety of birdlife, including Pink Flamingos. While Manyara lacks the raw drama of the northern circuit, its vegetation is diverse, ranging from savannah to marshes to evergreen forests, and it is home to one of the world’s greatest biomass concentrations of large mammals.

  • During the rainy season, tree climbing Lions, the only species of its type on the planet, make their home among the ancient mahogany and exquisite acacia trees.

  • Thousands of pink Flamingos stoop and graze against the grey minerals of the Lake coast.
  • On thermal gusts blowing up from the escarpment, yellow-billed storks swoop, and corkscrew.

The game in Lake Manyara includes a large number of elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, and buffalo. In terms of zebras, impalas, warthogs, and waterbucks, the numbers are well-known.

In terms of the residents, the life of birds here is extremely diverse. Often, groups of pelicans and pink shading of faraway flamingos may be seen in the middle of the Lake.

By Air: You have the option of flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Lake Manyara Airport. Manyara Airstrip is also served by charter flights from Arusha and  Serengeti.

By Road: Lake Manyara is 126 kilometers away and is easily accessible by automobile.
