Starting with a journey from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, this western approach entails rainforest trekking for two days to reach Shira Ridge. Lemosho then crosses the Shira Plateau, merging with the Machame route at Lava Tower. The path continues along the Southern Circuit under Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field, culminating in a Barafu ascent and a descent via the Mweka route.
