Shira 2 Camp, at 3,850 m (12,630 ft), is an important overnight campsite on the Lemosho and Machame Routes. Located on the scenic Shira Plateau, it offers wide views of Kilimanjaro’s volcanic landscape. The camp is surrounded by open moorland, with impressive views toward Kibo Peak. It provides an excellent opportunity to rest and continue acclimatizing to higher altitude. The peaceful setting makes Shira 2 a memorable stop on the journey toward Kilimanjaro’s summit.
