Cancellation and Refund Policy
Effective Date: July 3, 2024
At Tanzania Classic Tours, we understand that travel plans can change. This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the terms that apply when you cancel or modify your booking.
Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and a written confirmation has been issued by Tanzania Classic Tours.
Cancellation by the Client
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email.
The following cancellation charges apply:
More than 60 days before departure: Full refund, less any non-refundable deposits, bank charges, or third-party fees.
31–60 days before departure: 30% of the total tour price.
15–30 days before departure: 50% of the total tour price.
7–14 days before departure: 75% of the total tour price.
Less than 7 days before departure or no-show: 100% of the total tour price.
Please note that certain services, including domestic flights, international flights, gorilla permits, park permits, or special accommodation bookings, may be non-refundable and are subject to the cancellation policies of the respective service providers.
Changes to Your Booking
If you wish to amend your booking after confirmation, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Any changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs or supplier fees.
Cancellation by Tanzania Classic Tours
In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, political unrest, or other force majeure events, you will be offered one of the following options:
Reschedule your tour to a future available date.
Receive a travel credit for future use.
Receive a refund for services not yet provided, less any non-recoverable costs already paid to third-party suppliers.
Tanzania Classic Tours shall not be liable for additional expenses such as airline tickets, visa fees, travel insurance, or other personal travel costs.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method whenever possible.
Please allow 14–30 business days for refunds to be processed, depending on your bank or payment provider.
Bank transfer fees, payment gateway charges, currency exchange losses, and other third-party transaction costs may be deducted from the refund amount where applicable.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering:
Trip cancellation or interruption
Medical expenses
Emergency evacuation
Personal accident
Loss or delay of baggage
Flight delays and cancellations
Travel insurance provides important protection against unforeseen circumstances that may affect your trip.
Force Majeure
Tanzania Classic Tours shall not be held responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, strikes, civil unrest, government actions, or transportation disruptions.
