How Our Cancellation and Refund Policy Works

Cancellation and Refund Policy at Tanzania Classic Tours is designed to be transparent and fair for all our guests. This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains our terms for booking changes, cancellation fees, refund timelines, travel insurance, and force majeure. Please read this Cancellation and Refund Policy carefully before confirming your booking with Tanzania Classic Tours. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance, as our Cancellation and Refund Policy does not cover personal emergencies, flight cancellations, or force majeure events beyond our control. All refund requests under this Cancellation and Refund Policy must be made in writing via email.

At Tanzania Classic Tours, we understand that travel plans can change. This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the terms that apply when you cancel or modify your booking.

Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received and a written confirmation has been issued by Tanzania Classic Tours.

Cancellation by the Client

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email.

The following cancellation charges apply:

More than 60 days before departure: Full refund, less any non-refundable deposits, bank charges, or third-party fees.
31–60 days before departure: 30% of the total tour price.
15–30 days before departure: 50% of the total tour price.
7–14 days before departure: 75% of the total tour price.
Less than 7 days before departure or no-show: 100% of the total tour price.

Please note that certain services, including domestic flights, international flights, gorilla permits, park permits, or special accommodation bookings, may be non-refundable and are subject to the cancellation policies of the respective service providers.

Changes to Your Booking

If you wish to amend your booking after confirmation, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Any changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs or supplier fees.

Cancellation by Tanzania Classic Tours

In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, political unrest, or other force majeure events, you will be offered one of the following options:

Reschedule your tour to a future available date.
Receive a travel credit for future use.
Receive a refund for services not yet provided, less any non-recoverable costs already paid to third-party suppliers.

Tanzania Classic Tours shall not be liable for additional expenses such as airline tickets, visa fees, travel insurance, or other personal travel costs.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method whenever possible.

Please allow 14–30 business days for refunds to be processed, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Bank transfer fees, payment gateway charges, currency exchange losses, and other third-party transaction costs may be deducted from the refund amount where applicable.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering:

Trip cancellation or interruption
Medical expenses
Emergency evacuation
Personal accident
Loss or delay of baggage
Flight delays and cancellations

Travel insurance provides important protection against unforeseen circumstances that may affect your trip.

Force Majeure

Tanzania Classic Tours shall not be held responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, strikes, civil unrest, government actions, or transportation disruptions.

10 DAYS TANZANIA LUXURY SERENGETI & SELOUS SAFARI WITH SERENA HOTELS I've done countless safaris in Africa and this was the 4th time I've been to Tanzania. Tanzania Classic Tours organized the tour exactly as I wanted and, I must say, everything went perfectly. It was 5 days in the Serengeti and 3 days in the Selous for a group of 7 people. I thank Leonard Rikanga for all the work he did in organizing the tour and the prompt answers he gave me to all my demands regarding the program. I thank the guides Baraki and Gasper for everything they did to be able to find the animals we wanted to see: Leopards and Cheetahs. It is clear that I was very satisfied with Tanzania Classic Tours and that I recommend it.

It is difficult to put into words just how special this trip was. We are a family of four with two boys and spent 6 days on safari in Tanzania followed by 6 days in Zanzibar. Our safari took us through Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the southern, central and northern Serengeti (which we saw from the air as well from a hot air balloon). From the long months of planning until the very last day, Leonard and Tanzania Classic Tours were simply outstanding. Leonard was incredibly responsive and patient throughout the planning process. What impressed us most was his constant can-do attitude. He was proactive, flexible and always seemed to be thinking one step ahead, with our family's best interests in mind. His choice of lodges, the route and the overall organization were excellent. We felt that this wasn't just another itinerary being sold to us — it was our trip, carefully built around us. And then there was Alibariki — "Bariki" to us. What can we say about this amazing man? Bariki was our guide, driver, wildlife expert, storyteller and, by the end of the trip, genuinely felt like part of our family. Always smiling, endlessly patient with our boys and possessing an incredible knowledge of the animals, the landscape and Tanzania. Bariki somehow knew where to look and how to find everything on our wish list. He modestly kept telling us that we were "just lucky." We don't believe him. 😊 And what "luck" we had! The Big Five, unforgettable up-close encounters with Africa's great predators, even a serval(!!), and one of the most dramatic experiences of our lives — watching thousands of wildebeest cross the Mara River while enormous crocodiles waited for their opportunity. And, as if Tanzania wanted to give us one final present, we checked one final checkbox as a group of meerkats crossed the airstrip at the very last minute, just before we had to leave for our flight. We came to Tanzania hoping for the African adventure of a lifetime. Leonard planned it, Bariki made it happen, and together they gave our family memories we will carry forever. Zanzibar was different but no less amazing and thoroughly planned, with Dolphin chasing, white sand beaches, the amazing blue safari and to top it all a skydive(!!) Tanzania Classic Tours gets our absolute, wholehearted recommendation. Don't look anywhere else! And Bariki — you may have started this trip as our guide, but you finished it as the newest member of our family. ❤️🇹🇿 Asante sana, Leonard and Bariki. Until we meet again.

I highly recommend this company for your Safari. Great people. Took such care of us. Our guide Barack was incredible. A wonderful kind man with so much knowledge. He was knowledgeable about all the roads and landmarks so he could take us to wherever the cool animals were. The guide absolutely matters. We saw soooo many awesome animals. The big five-no problem! The wildebeest migration. He’s a great driver, safe and knows the drill. I really feel we got the absolute best tour a person could get. We stayed in BEAUTIFUL lodgings. Beautiful tent camps, A couple right in the middle of the Serengeti, where you need an escort at night because of animals. All of them were wonderful, beautiful, and took good care of us. I can’t recommend Tanzania Classic Tours enough. It was perfect. And ask for Barack. He’s so good. Enjoy your Safari!

We booked a 3-week trip with Tanzania Classic Tours, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! Everything was organized perfectly from start to finish. We kicked off our trip with the Lemosho Route on Mount Kilimanjaro. The entire crew was simply amazing! They made us feel completely safe and supported us every single step of the way. The food on the mountain was delicious, and the team took care of absolutely everything. The crew was super friendly and extremely flexible (they even helped us skip a camp on short notice when we wanted to!). After Kili, we went on a 6-day safari covering Tarangire, Serengeti (3 days), Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. It was an incredible experience! Thanks to our guide, Leonard, we saw everything: lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, hyenas, pumba, gazelles, buffaloes, gnus, leopards, rhinos, hippos, and so much more! Leonard always brought us to the best spots and made sure we got up close to the animals. Thank you so much, Leonard! To round off our trip, we spent our final week relaxing on Zanzibar as the perfect end. A huge thank you to Leonard, his entire team at Tanzania Classic Tours! This was an unforgettable experience and we highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania!

The most incredible experience - 3 day safari We had a wonderful experience at a 3 day safari to Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara, something I would highly recommend for fanilies (we had 3 kids with us and they loved it as well ) - food, lodging, planning, our wonderful guide - we felt very well taken care of from the first moment to the very last. I would love to come back for another safari to include Serengeti as well, but this shorter version was optimal for a trip with kids.. Tanzania Classic Tours has been wonderful , I highly recommend it.

Safari, tribes and coffee We did a seven day safari, including visites to the tribes, national parks and coffee farm. Ombeni was the best guide we could have wished for. He was always caring and arranging any modifications in the planning to suit our wishes. He was always smiling, showing his passion for his work and for nature. We saw every animal possible and was impressive how he knew all the roads and shared his knowledge with us. Joshua was an attentive and supportive guide, translating at all times and ready to teach us about the Tanzanian culture and answering all our questions. The best part was getting to have dinner at one of the local restaurants and visiting a coffee farm, sharing their culture, way of living and food. Feeling always welcome.

Wonderful, Impresionante. Los guías Ombeni y Joshua han sido muy amables y muy atentos en todo momento. Nos hemos sentido muy protegidos, como en FAMILIA. Además de la increíble experiencia de ver los animales , la flora y fauna ( paisaje maravilloso) en Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, compartir el modo de vida de los masais, Hadzabe, y Datoga y disfrutar de las planciones de café y banana, y la comida local, nos hemos sentido más cercanos a los tanzanos por compartir con ellos sus canciones, música, y danzas y lengua swahili. Unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania This has been an amazing experience, truly unforgettable and very special.
