Shira Camp is a high-altitude mountain campsite located on the Shira Plateau within Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Serving as a key overnight stop on the Lemosho and Shira climbing routes, the camp offers trekkers a spectacular alpine setting with sweeping views of Kibo Peak, Mount Meru, and the surrounding moorland. Unlike traditional safari lodges, Shira Camp is a tent-only campsite where climbers stay in expedition tents provided by their trekking operator. Its primary purpose is acclimatization, allowing hikers to gradually adjust to the altitude before continuing their ascent toward Uhuru Peak.
