Day 1

Arusha to Lake Natron

Depart in the morning from Arusha and drive through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania towards Ol Doinyo Lengai. Along the journey, enjoy views of open plains, Maasai villages, volcanic hills, and the dramatic scenery of the Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check in at your camp or lodge and spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the climb. As evening approaches, enjoy dinner and a short briefing from your guide. Late at night, begin your trek to the summit. The climb takes place under the stars when temperatures are cooler, making the ascent more comfortable. As you climb, you will experience the quiet wilderness of the mountain and the unique atmosphere of this active volcano.

Day 2

Sunrise, Lake Visit and Drive Back to Arusha

Reach the summit in the early morning and enjoy breathtaking sunrise views over the surrounding landscapes, including the plains below, the volcanic highlands, and the nearby lake. After spending time at the top, begin your descent back to the base. Following breakfast and some time to rest, continue to the nearby Lake Natron. The lake is known for its striking scenery and rich birdlife, especially flamingos that gather along the shores. You may also spot other water birds and enjoy the dramatic contrast between the lake, escarpments, and open plains. After your visit, begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving later in the day and marking the end of your adventurous journey.
