Lake Naivasha Safaris
Located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake known for its rich biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere. Just about 90 kilometers from Nairobi, it is one of the most accessible natural destinations in the country, making it perfect for both short visits and extended safari itineraries. Lake Naivasha stands out because it is one of the few freshwater lakes in the Rift Valley. This allows it to support lush vegetation, including papyrus reeds and acacia trees, which create a green and vibrant environment. The lake’s size changes depending on rainfall, sometimes expanding widely and at other times shrinking to reveal open shorelines. The area is rich in wildlife, especially around the lake and its surrounding grasslands. One of the most notable animals is the hippopotamus, commonly seen resting in the water during the day. Other animals in the area include giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, waterbucks, and monkeys.
