Prison Island Safaris
Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island, is a small island located about 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town. It is one of Zanzibar’s most visited historical and leisure destinations, combining colonial history, marine life, and pristine coastal scenery. Originally intended as a prison in the 19th century, the island was later used as a quarantine station. Today, it is a peaceful getaway where visitors enjoy crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, and close encounters with giant tortoises.
