6-Day Oldoinyo Lengai Climb & Tanzania Wildlife Safari

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive towards Lake Natron through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy views of remote villages, Maasai communities, and dramatic volcanic landscapes. Upon arrival at Lake Natron, check in at your lodge and relax while preparing for the Oldoinyo Lengai climb.

After breakfast, explore the fascinating Lake Natron area on a guided walking tour. Discover the unique landscape, birdlife, and seasonal waterfalls while learning about the local Maasai culture.

Later, return to the camp for some rest and an early dinner before preparing for the overnight Oldoinyo Lengai climb. Begin the ascent during the night with an experienced mountain guide, climbing through the volcanic terrain under the stars.

Continue your climb towards the summit and, depending on weather and trail conditions, reach the top around sunrise. Enjoy spectacular views across the Great Rift Valley and surrounding landscapes before beginning your descent. After returning to the lodge, have breakfast and take some time to rest. Later, depart Lake Natron and drive towards the Ngorongoro Highlands and Karatu for a well-deserved evening of relaxation.

After an early breakfast, descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and many other species. After the crater tour, continue towards Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through its diverse landscapes, including lush forests, open plains, and the lake shoreline, before continuing to your accommodation.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Lake Manyara before driving towards Tarangire National Park. Famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year. Spend the afternoon exploring the park with your professional guide, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, lions, and other wildlife. As the day comes to an end, continue to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Begin your final day with a morning game drive in Tarangire, when wildlife is often most active. Continue exploring the park’s scenic landscapes and search for any animals you may not have encountered on the previous day. After the game drive, exit the park and drive back to Arusha. Depending on your departure arrangements, you can be transferred to your hotel, airport, or another onward destination.
