9-Day Tanzania Safari, Serengeti & Oldoinyo Lengai Trekking Adventure

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Tanzania Classic Tours representative and transferred to Arusha. After checking in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at your lodge and preparing for the safari adventure ahead.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees, impressive elephant herds, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a rewarding game drive through the park’s beautiful landscapes, with opportunities to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.

After breakfast, begin your journey towards the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands and continue across the vast plains of the Serengeti. Enjoy game viewing along the way as you enter the park and make your way towards your camp.

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives. With its vast plains and abundant wildlife, the park offers excellent opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, and other species. Your guide will select the best areas based on wildlife movements and seasonal conditions.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before beginning your journey towards Lake Natron. The route takes you away from the main safari circuit and into the remote landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy spectacular scenery along the way before arriving at Lake Natron and settling into your lodge.

After breakfast, explore the fascinating surroundings of Lake Natron on a guided walking tour. Discover the area’s unique landscapes, birdlife, and local Maasai culture, with an opportunity to visit nearby waterfalls depending on conditions and timing. Later, return to the lodge to rest and enjoy an early dinner before preparing for the Oldoinyo Lengai climb. Begin the overnight trek during the night with an experienced mountain guide, ascending the volcanic slopes under the stars.

Continue the Oldoinyo Lengai ascent and, depending on weather and trail conditions, reach the summit around sunrise. Enjoy spectacular views across the Great Rift Valley before beginning the descent.

After returning to Lake Natron, have breakfast and take some time to rest before departing for Karatu. The journey offers beautiful views of the Rift Valley and surrounding highlands.

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for your final game drive. The crater is home to an exceptional concentration of wildlife, offering excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and many other species.

After the crater tour, ascend from the crater and continue to Arusha. From Arusha, proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
