6-Days Epic Mount Kilimanjaro Climb via Marangu Route

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day checking your trekking gear, relaxing, and learning about the route ahead. Arusha charming town, with its coffee plantations and local culture, offers a perfect start to your adventure.

After breakfast you will have checked your mountain equipment before collected from your hotel and transferred to Marangu gate. You served hot lunch in the gate and after the park complete park formalities you start hike begin at Marangu gate 1800m, you walk through lush rainforest with giant ferns and tall mahogany trees, listening to birds and spotting colobus monkeys. The path gradually ascends, giving a gentle start to your climb while surrounded by nature the trek takes 4–5 hours.

After breakfast hiking slowly to Horombo hut (3720m). Ascend from Mandara Hut through the upper rainforest into the moorland zone. Marvel at the change in vegetation, from dense forests to giant heathers and lobelias. Today hike takes 6 to 8 hours you will served hot lunch en route, the altitude begins to make itself felt cautioning you walk slowly “Pole Pole “in Swahili is the order of the day enjoying the flora and long views. The hike offers amazing views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks and the surrounding valleys.

An extra day at Horombo Hut to acclimatize to the higher altitude but for 5 days climb on this day you will trek at Kibo Hut. Spend a day walk to zebra rock the rock striped by weather. Explore the birdlife that is abundant at Horombo and gate good panoramic views of the mountain and Mawenzi Peak.

Today you hike slowly 6 hours to reach kibo hut. The trek across the barren, high-altitude alpine desert toward Kibo Hut. The landscape is stark yet beautiful, with rocky paths, moon-like scenery, and the shadow of Kilimanjaro stretching across the plains. Reach Kibo Hut in the afternoon to rest and Use the day to hydrate, rest, and prepare for the challenging summit night.

You start hike around 1 AM, you reaching Gilmans point (5,685m) at sunrise. The path from Kibo to Gilman’s point is the demanding 5 hours on the whole climb and then continue another 2 hours to reach the Uhuru peak (5,895m). Descent to Kibo hut for hot lunch then horombo hut takes 4-5 hours.

You will hike back to Marangu gate and the park headquarters. At marangu gate you will sign you name and details in register, the successful climbers receive summit certificate, those climbers who Gilman’s point point is issued with green certificate and those who reached uhuru peak receive gold certificate. Then meet your drive guide and get hot lunch before drive back to your hotel. 

On your last day in Tanzania, your driver will pick you up from your hotel, then you will be transported on time to the airport where we will wish you a safe journey and good luck.
