5-DAYS MARANGU ROUTE KILIMANJARO TREK | TANZANIA

Upon arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet with your drive guide and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day checking your trekking gear, relaxing, and learning about the route ahead, in the evening you will meet your head mountain guide for a detailed trekking briefing. our guide will review the trekking plan, check your equipment, answer any questions and confirm the departure time for the following morning.

After breakfast you will have checked your mountain equipment before collected from your hotel and transferred to Marangu gate. after  complete park formalities registration, your start scenic trek through marked trail  toward the first camp Mandara hut, actual hike  take 4 to 5 hours through a fascinating rain forest to Mandara hut (2700m). you will be seen the black and white colobus monkey in branch of tree. Look for a tiny flower called impatient, Kilimanjaro’s, endemic species to Kilimanjaro.

After breakfast hiking slowly to Horombo hut (3700m), leave the last glade of forest and follow the gently ascending path through the open alpine moorland. Today hike takes 6 to 8 hours. Hot lunch en route. The altitude begins to make itself felt cautioning you to walk slowly. “Pole Pole” in Swahili is the order of the day while enjoying the flora and long view. Giant senecios stands tall along the path. Kibo and Mawenzi peak can be seen on a clear day and afternoon you get hot tea or coffee.

Trek across the barren, high-altitude alpine desert toward Kibo Hut. The landscape is stark yet beautiful, with rocky paths, moon-like scenery, and the shadow of Kilimanjaro stretching across the plains. Reach Kibo Hut in the afternoon to rest and prepare for the midnight summit climb and trek takes  5–6 hours.

Begin the midnight climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Witness a breathtaking sunrise from Africa’s highest point, with panoramic views over the plains and glaciers. After celebrating at the summit, descend back via Kibo  to Horombo Hut, trek duration Summit takes  6–8 hours and descent  takes 4–5 hours.

You will descent back to the Marangu gate and park headquarters. At marangu gate you sign you name and details in a register. This also where successful climbers receive their summit certificate. Those climbers who Gillman’s point is issued with green certificate and those who reached Uhuru peak receive gold certificate. Then meet by a driver and get hot lunch before drive back to your hotel.

On your last day in Tanzania, your driver will pick you up from your hotel, then you will be transported on time to the airport where we will wish you a safe journey and good luck.
