After breakfast, you’ll leave Arusha and begin the two-hour trip to Tarangire National Park.
Along the route, you’ll see how the terrain changes as the urban jungle of Arusha gives way to wide-open grasslands and picturesque Masai communities. When you check-in at the park, you’ll get the opportunity to witness mischievous monkeys darting around in the shade, as well as pose with a massive Baobab at the park’s entrance.
Once entering the park, you’ll witness the Tarangire River, which is flanked with acacia and Baobab trees and where wildlife amble around all day.
Dozens of animals from the Masai steppe travel to the Tarangire region in search of water during the dry season, allowing you to view lots of different species in a short period of time.
Endangered creatures including the Greater Kudu, Fringe-Eared Oryx, and Ashy Starling are only found in the park.
Take in an unrivaled vista of the Tarangire River while enjoying a picnic lunch at one of the park’s picnic spots. Keep an eye on your food, though, because if given the chance, the local monkey colony will happily steal a delectable treat!
Late in the afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha.
