Your helpful guide will arrive at your lodging with a delicious packed lunch. He or she would then rush you into the vehicle and drive you to Lake Chala Safari Camp. You’ll pass through Moshi’s daily life and onto the motorway, where you can spend a leisurely, comfortable hour-and-a-half soaking in the sights.
Lake Chala Safari Camp is a stunning private wildlife reserve with a stunning view of Lake Chala. You’ll arrive, and our guide will lead you down to the lake’s edge, passing past vibrant green flora and up to the blue, blue lake ahead. Wear sturdy footwear near the lake because it gets rather rough.
It’s a beautiful site for hikers and birdwatchers, and if you go during the right season, you might even see elephants gathering at a nearby waterhole. Spend the day strolling around the lake or across the neighboring savannah, where you’ll likely spot baboons, vervet monkeys, and blue monkeys, as well as the shy dik-dik and beautiful kudu.
Spend some time relaxing by the lakeside after your hike, surrounded solely by birdsong and the gentle lapping of the water.
If you want to get a little more active, you can rent a kayak and go on a ride around the lake. As you row, the ever-present chirping and soft splashing of the water will enchant you.
Stop at the bar after your travels for a drink (alcoholic or otherwise) and, if you’re hungry, an afternoon snack. You’ll be taken back to Moshi in the late afternoon if you haven’t chosen to camp at the Lake (think campfire beneath the stars). The relaxing trip will allow you to think on your day and wonder if it would be impolite to go straight to bed when you get home – you won’t believe how sleepy you’ll be after a day of stress-relieving tranquility.
