After breakfast, you’ll leave Arusha and begin your journey to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey will take about two hours, but we’ll stop in Mto Wa Mbu, a market town along the way. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a mash-up of local cultures and a treasure trove for souvenir hunters.
You’ll enter Lake Manyara National Park after a brief halt at the town market. The safari park is a photographer’s dream come true, with some of the best wildlife watching in the world. Many of Africa’s most well-known creatures can be seen, with tree-climbing lions being a special treat. These magnificent predators are virtually begging to be photographed as they sunbathe in acacia trees.
Lake Manyara is a bird-paradise, a watcher’s with a large diversity of species on exhibit throughout the Lake Manyara safari park. Large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the beautifully colored lilac-breasted roller will astonish even the most inexperienced visitor.
In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha.
It’s also possible to go on a guided canoe safari on the lake if the conditions are favorable. Check with your safari specialist to determine if this activity is available during your visit.
